International Conference of Investors and Issuers
Warsaw – Central and Eastern Europe’s Regional Financial Hub
Dear Reader,
The Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) is gradually becoming the major stock exchange in Central and Eastern Europe, and Warsaw itself aspires to become a regional center for financial investment. That is the opinion of many Polish and foreign experts as well as issuers and investors who operate in Warsaw.
The assertion above leads to a number of questions. Seeking to find reliable and clear answers, the WSE, and The Warsaw Voice weekly have decided to hold a conference, organized with principal media partner The International Herald Tribune, in Warsaw May 29, inviting everybody who is interested in the subject. Alongside members of the Polish government, the authorities of Warsaw and WSE management, conference participants will include numerous experts, issuers and investors.
This unique meeting will create opportunities to discuss both, the assets and the weak points of the Polish economy, the largest EU member economy with the strongest foundations in Central and Eastern Europe, an economy which boasted a GDP growth of 6 percent last year and whose GDP growth is expected to be around 5 percent this year. The economy is going through an extremely dynamic phase also thanks to such positive stimuli as the largest inflow of EU structural funds in the region and preparations for the Euro 2012 European soccer championships, which will take place in Poland and Ukraine, the two largest countries in the region.
During the conference, plans and proposals will be unveiled by members of the Polish government and the authorities of Warsaw, currently the fastest developing capital city in Europe. Issuers, investors and Polish and foreign experts will present analyses and assessments, while all participants in the conference will get to voice their opinions in an open debate involving members of the Polish government and the local government of Warsaw.
The conference in Warsaw will be a unique platform for information and opinion exchange and a meeting place for key members of the business and political communities which deal with the Polish and international capital market.
We cordially invite you to the conference,
